Best Solutions for Dry Hands and Feet this Winter

Discover two great products that may provide relief for your dry hands and feet this winter!

Aveeno Colloidal Oatmeal Eczema Relief

My #1 recommendation is the Aveeno Eczema Therapy Rescue Relief Treatment Gel Cream.

The Aveeno Gel really works to moisturize, and truly provides lasting relief. This product also ranks most similar to the original relief found with Welly.

Winter weather brings dry skin and chapped hands here in Colorado and I am sure in your state too…

One thing I have discovered while enjoying scented lotions and perfume enhanced soaps, it tends to add to my dry skin and create an endless circle…

My heels especially as they are brittle and easily crack which can be very painful.

Colloidal Oatmeal

When I discovered Welly Eczema Body Cream one afternoon at Target I thought it was just another lotion. The 1% active ingredient of Colloidal Oatmeal seemed to be the mineral my skin needed as it resulted in soothing relief and healing of my cracked, dry hands and heels too!

Little did I know this product was no longer available and I began searching for an alternative.

My goal was to find another product with the same active ingredient. Colloidal Oatmeal seems to deeply penetrate the skin and provide relief while offering a sting free, and comforting level of hydration.

Today, I am excited to share my favorite 2 products with you!

Recommended Products

Two products I recommend are made by Aveeno and Goldbond. These products offer a 2% active ingredient of the Colloidal Oatmeal. The Aveeno is a gel which also offers a cooling sensation while the Goldbond Eczema Relief is more of a typical lotion. Both products are good but my #1 recommendation is the Aveeno Eczema Therapy Rescue Relief Treatment Gel Cream. The Aveeno Gel really works to moisturize, and truly provides lasting relief. This product also ranks most similar to the original relief found with Welly.

If you or someone you know also suffers with dry skin, cracked cuticles, or painful dry heels, please give one of these products a try!

To use, simply apply like regular hand lotion, or lather on the product then lightly cover with a clean cloth, shirt, sock, or glove. Depending on the area you are treating.

Personal recommendation?
I love applying at night before bed and allowing the Aveeno Gel Cream to soak in overnight.

Simply repeat daily until you love the results!

So what is Colloidal Oatmeal?

It is really oatmeal! This finely ground oat powder is used for its anti inflammatory and antioxidant properties. It is soothing and used in many skincare products. It has been found to soothe, soften, and reduce redness. Colloidal Oatmeal strengthens the skins barrier while protecting the surface, balancing pH levels, and decreasing moisture loss. There are many natural minerals found in Colloidal Oatmeal including Vitamin E which is also known to help repair dry skin.

Full Body Soak

If you want to provide relief to a large area, you may want to consider a soothing bath treatment. Aveeno also offers a 100% Natural Colloidal Oatmeal bath additive. Simply add to your bath water and soak.

This product is free from fragrances and also relieves itching caused by insect bites, poison ivy, oak, sumac, rashes, or eczema.

Disclaimer

This is my personal experience and I hope it is helpful to you. If you are allergic to oatmeal then please do not try these products. Also, please be sure to research these products on your own if you have any concerns or questions. I simply wanted to share my experience in case this information may be helpful to you!
